  • 1.First time in the country as a pilot project where silos (large steel storage tanks) are being constructed for storage of rice ? Bihar

*To prevent wastage of food grains in storage, First time in the country as a pilot project, silose are being cunstructed at a cost of 65.28 crores for the storage of rice at Mohian of Kaimur and Itadhi of Buxar.
Silose is already being used in the country for storing wheat, but for storing of rice first time silage is being built in Bihar.

* The first phase of the scheme has been launched in five districts in various rural areas of the country – these include Ara (Bihar), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), and villages in western Gujarat.
